I will not apologize that my black skin offends you. I will not apologize that my black skin scares you. I will not apologize for the melanin in my skin. You see the aggression that you created in my black skin. You see the anger that you made in my black skin. You see frustration that is a result of your actions in my black skin. You hate my black skin. You think you’re better than me because of my black skin. You want me to remain taciturn because of my black skin. You think that because of my black skin my voice doesn’t matter. You would think that because of all of the “progress” that we have made the intimidation that you feel because of my black skin would have abated by now. You think that because of my black skin that your life holds more value than mine. You want to control me and you are so “offended” by the fact that I am saying NO! I’m not apologizing for that.
